The Sixth Birthday Cake. Click for the big picture.The Bush Dancers display group have been having a top time in the last month or so, with performances, bush dancing on Norfolk Island, a Gala Ball at the Albert Hall, and get-togethers leading up to the above events.

Working with trip co-ordinator Lyn McGregor, musician co-ordinator David Johnson, the Norfolk Island Social Ballroom dance committee, and many other helpers, we organised the Wonderful Week of Bush Dancing on Norfolk Island. And what a wonderful week it was. After a huge week of workshops and dance the cries from the sixty or so dancers, musicians and callers were not for "mercy" but for "more!", and "where are we going next?" ... full story

It was cool summer's Sunday evening in Tubercurry and the first ceili of the South Sligo Summer School was about to get underway.

Click for Barbara and Lance travel pics on Flickr There were folk from Canberra and around Australia who had said they would be there, but where were they? There we were, in the company of about 120 strangers crammed into St Bridget's Hall off the town square in Tubercurry, near the West coast of Ireland just below the border with Northern Ireland. They were friendly looking strangers, but there was not one familiar face to be seen.

"Clare Lancers" the word came from the stage and we joined the rush to form up sets. ...full story
